April is national grilled cheese month!  It’s natural to feature a sandwich that’s glued together by delicious cheese and the only way we can think of making this better is by adding fruits and veggies to the mix!  Check out some of our favourite grilled cheeses that highlight the nutritious goodness of produce.

Green Goddess Grilled Cheese Sandwich from The Girl on Bloor.  Who doesn’t love a green sandwich! This delicious grilled cheese has spinach, sprouts, avocados and tomatillos adding a perfect colour.

Mediterranean Grilled Cheese Sandwich from The Almond Eater.   Step up your game with this sandwich featuring tomatoes, feta, onions, kale and olives.

Caramelized Pineapple Grilled Cheese with Honeyed Walnuts from An Edible Mosaic.  Fruit and cheese are one of our favourite combinations so it only makes sense that these two marry perfectly in between slices of bread.

Bombay Veggie Grilled Cheese Sandwich from Cook with Manali.  This sandwich has the flavours of India all packed into a perfect “to go” meal.

Grilled Zucchini Hummus Wrap from Macbells. These veggies are grilled to perfection in a wrap with cheese and hummus.  Not technically a sandwich but we had to share!
