Alain’s Maple Apple & onion baked brie

The sweet and savoury topping is perfect on brie but you can also use it on your favourite protein or as a dip of its own! A delicious appetizer and total crown pleaser.

Ingredients

  • 1 wheel Brie Cheese top removed
  • 4 slices Bacon diced
  • 1 Honeycrisp Apple
  • 1 Yellow Onion diced
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup
  • 1/4 cup Coffee
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup Pistachios

Instructions

  • Place the brie into an oven safe dish just slightly larger than the wheel and place into a preheated 350° oven
  • Place the bacon into a saute pan and cook until crisp. Remove the bacon from the pan and reserve. Melt the butter and saute the onion, apple, till transusat add pistachios for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the maple and cook until slightly reduced. Add the coffee, reduce a bit further and add the bacon back in.
  • Remove the brie from the oven and place on a serving plate, top of the brie and top with the apple, onion, maple coffee sauce
