Bio
Carla Centola BSc, RD is a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia. Carla received her undergraduate degree with honors from the University of British Columbia and completed her dietetic internship with Fraser Health Authority.
Carla currently works as an outpatient Dietitian in Diabetes (including diabetes in pregnancy) with Fraser health, as well as a number of other practice areas in private practice including sustainable weight management, building healthy relationships with food + your body, heart health, pregnancy nutrition and more. She loves doing group education classes, because she finds it exciting to hear all the thoughts, questions and discussions that arise; however, she’s also passionate about one-on-one appointments to help meet client’s individualized goals. Carla has a keen interest in family-focused nutrition, as well as a passion for creating healthy relationships with our food and bodies. She is passionate about creating positive eating environments, using food as a way of connecting, healing, experimenting and powering us throughout our day by giving us the fuel to accomplish our goals.
Carla loves to eat, cook, and share food and believes that ALL foods have a place in the diet – there is no such thing as a good or bad food. All types of food provide us with different nutrients and supports us in a variety of ways. However, she likes to take a holistic approach and encourage cooking from home whenever possible, and she would love to give you the skills to do so. Her practice is all about loosing the food rules and learning to eat mindfully, while helping her clients achieve their health goals (whatever they may be!).
Carla is passionate about supporting individuals to build a positive and sustainable relationship with food and discover their joy in eating. She has a vast amount of knowledge in plant based eating, but is excited to support all individuals, regardless of their current eating style.
Outside of work you can find Carla with her puppy – Mia. They’re either in the kitchen creating new recipes, biking new roads, or exploring trails!
