The 2016 CPMA Fresh Health Award goes to BCfresh!
Last week in Calgary the Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) recognized BCfresh with the 2016 Fresh Health Award to acknowledge their active participating in promoting the Half Your Plate program.
“We’re proud to present this award to BCfresh, as they’ve really increased awareness for Half Your Plate on everything from packaging to social media. Not only have they actively adopted the program in all their branding, they have equally encouraged other industry partners to join the Half Your Plate movement,” said Ron Lemaire, CPMA President.
BCfresh has integrated the Half Your Plate logo and messaging into all of their marketing efforts, including their packaging, social media, videos, and website. Their use of the Half Your Plate branding is reaching millions of consumers across Canada through retail point of sale items and marketing.
“We were very surprised when CPMA announced this year’s Fresh Health Award winner”, said Murray Driediger, BCfresh President and CEO. “We are truly honoured to be recognized for our efforts and thrilled to be associated with the growing Half Your Plate campaign”.
“Immediately following last year’s launch of the Half Your Plate (HYP) campaign we recognized the concept was a fast and easy way to encourage people to eat more fruits and veggies”, said Brian Faulkner, VP Sales and Marketing. “We quickly added the logo to every Kwik Lok bag closure that goes on every potato and vegetable bag and just carried on from there”.
Every year at the annual convention and trade show, the Fresh Health award is given in recognition to a company or organization that has shown outstanding leadership in their efforts to increase consumption of fruits and vegetables. These companies and organizations use the Half Your Plate or Freggie Children’s program messaging in their efforts.
